Shubman Gill

Born on September 8, 1999, in Fazilka, Punjab, Gill made his debut for the Indian cricket team in January 2019, and since then, he has been a crucial part of the team.

 Early Life and Career Gill's interest in cricket began at a young age, and he started playing at the age of three. He was initially coached by his father, Lakhwinder Singh, who recognized his son's talent and encouraged him to pursue cricket as a career.

 International Debut and Success Gill's hard work paid off when he was selected to play for the Indian cricket team in January 2019, in a Test match against Australia. He made his debut at the Sydney Cricket Ground, and although he did not score many runs in his first innings, he impressed everyone with his technique and composure.

 Gill's breakthrough performance came in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in 2020-21. In the absence of regular openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, Gill was given the opportunity to open the innings for India. He grabbed the opportunity with both hands, scoring 259 runs in three matches, including two half-centuries. Gill's performance in the series earned him praise from cricketing legends like Sunil Gavaskar and Ricky Ponting, who called him a "special talent" and a "future star."
